01 · Basics
What are 0DTE Options?
0DTE stands for Zero Days to Expiration — options that expire
on the same trading day. For NQ (Nasdaq Futures) there are three days per week
Expiry days: Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
What makes 0DTE unique: gamma is extremely elevated and theta destroys option value
with every passing hour. An option worth 50 points in the morning can be
worth only 20 points at an unchanged price — through time decay alone.
This turns 0DTE into a zero-sum race against time.
Why 0DTE are so powerful
The closer price is to a major 0DTE strike, the more explosive
gamma becomes. A small price move creates massive delta changes — forcing
dealers into aggressive hedging in both directions. This creates the characteristic
sharp, fast NQ moves around key strikes.
The combination of high gamma and rapid time decay makes 0DTE levels the
most precise and simultaneously most dangerous zones in the entire options market.
Those who use them correctly hold a clear structural edge. Those who ignore them
wonder why the market appears to reverse "randomly".
02 · Key Levels
Die vier 0DTE-Level
Tradinghub calculates four specific levels from the 0DTE options chains.
They are more precise than standard levels because they only account for the gamma of
today's expiring options.
Long-Zone
Call Resistance 0DTE
Strike with the highest call gamma for today's expiring options.
Dealers must aggressively sell NQ here as price rises.
Strongest intraday ceiling of the day.
Nutzung: Fade short when price approaches + momentum fades
Short-Zone
Put Support 0DTE
Strike with the highest put gamma for today's expiring options.
Dealers buy NQ futures as price falls. Strongest intraday
support — but a break below accelerates everything.
Use: Bounce long near support / acceleration short on break
Regime Boundary
HVL 0DTE
The gamma flip level for today's options only. Often closer to current
price than the standard HVL. Price above HVL 0DTE = stable intraday regime.
Price below HVL 0DTE = elevated intraday volatility.
Nutzung: Intraday regime filter for strategy selection
Magnet
Gamma Wall 0DTE
The strike with the highest total gamma concentration across all
today's options. Acts as an extremely powerful magnet toward expiry —
price is literally pulled toward it (pin effect).
Use: Target price zone for expiry / options-pinning trades
Wichtig: Intraday-Updates
0DTE levels are not static. Tradinghub updates them up to 8 times
per trading day, as new 0DTE options are continuously traded and
the gamma picture shifts. Check levels before every trade — not just in the morning.
03 · Timing
Der Tages-Zeitplan
0DTE trades are extremely time-sensitive. Depending on the time of day,
gamma shifts — and so does the market. Here is the optimal schedule
for NQ 0DTE trades (all times Eastern Time).
6:00 – 9:30
Pre-Market
Run the morning prep workflow. Load and record 0DTE levels. No trades yet.
VORBEREITUNG
9:30 – 10:30
Opening Hour
Best time for open-drive setups. Gamma is elevated, moves are fast and directional. Opening direction often defines the daily bias.
PRIME TIME
10:30 – 11:30
Mid-Morning
Often the first consolidation after the open. Level fades work well. Gamma Wall begins to activate.
GUT
11:30 – 13:30
Lunch-Lull
Liquidity drops, spreads widen, random moves increase. Theta decay accelerates. Extreme caution or step aside.
MEIDEN
13:30 – 15:00
Afternoon
Liquidity returns. Pin effect toward Gamma Wall intensifies. Break-and-retest setups perform well.
GUT
15:00 – 15:45
Power Hour
Strongest pin effects. Gamma Wall pulls price forcefully. Options pinning and squeezes occur here. Theta decay extreme.
PRIME TIME
15:45 – 16:00
Schlusskampf
Final 15 minutes: maximum gamma, maximum randomness. Last-minute hedging can create erratic moves. No new positions.

Every setup has clear conditions — if the conditions are not met,
there is no trade.

Risk Management for 0DTE
0DTE trades are the highest-risk trades in the playbook. Not because the setups
are inferior — but because mistakes leave no time to recover.
These rules are not optional.

The single most important rule
If a 0DTE trade goes against you immediately and you do not understand why,
close the position. In 0DTE trading, "waiting to see if it recovers"
is one of the most expensive strategies there is. Theta destroys value while you wait.
Limit losses and reassess.
Common Mistakes
What you must avoid
These mistakes cost most 0DTE traders their capital. Not because the
concepts are wrong — but because discipline is lacking.
✓ RICHTIG
▶Always run the morning-prep workflow first — know the levels before the market opens
▶Wait for confirmation — no premature entry into an assumed break
▶Define your stop before placing the order, not after
▶Take profits when the target level is reached — no greed
▶Take a break during the lunch lull and review trades
▶Close positions before 15:45 — no holding into the final minutes
▶Monitor gamma condition regularly — regime can shift intraday
✗ FALSCH
✗Trading without level knowledge — "I'm just watching the chart"
✗Holding losing trades in hope of recovery
✗Forcing the next trade immediately after a loss (revenge trading)
✗Attempting fade trades in a negative gamma regime
✗Trading the lunch lull because it gets "boring"
✗Increasing position size after a winner (overconfidence)
✗0DTE-Trades ohne klares Setup aus Impulsen heraus eingehen
Die 0DTE-Formel
Correct Regime + Correct Level + Correct Timing = Structural Edge.
If any of these three factors is missing, there is no trade. That sounds restrictive —
but it is exactly what separates 0DTE traders who make money
from those who lose it.
